If you have no vehicle, book the tour: Agafay Desert Sunset, Camel Ride and Dinner Show costs €14.97 for four hours and includes round-trip transport, dinner and the show. For the quad, the package with quad, camel and dinner show adds the equipment and the guide. Getting there on your own is possible with a car, but then you handle the night-time drive back yourself.
What the tour price includes
The booking pages are more precise than the short descriptions. For the €14.97 evening, they list air-conditioned bus transport from Marrakesh (about 40 minutes by road to the desert), hotel pickup and the return, a guide, a 15 to 20 minute camel ride, tea at a Berber camp, dinner, a campfire, music and a fire show. Not included: water, tips, sodas and the camp pool, listed at €7 extra.
For the €20.65 quad package, the page adds a guide, a two-person quad for 40 minutes, a helmet, dinner with water and air-conditioned minibus transport from specific meeting points. This equipment is part of the tour; nothing in the descriptions says whether a camp rents out quads to visitors who come on their own, and that is a question to put to the camp before you set off.

One detail that matters: the medina
The page for the €14.97 evening warns that the bus cannot enter the medina: if your riad is there, the meeting point is Hotel Islane. For the other packages, the starting point depends on the pickup list shown at booking.
And without the tour?
The tour gets back to town around 10 PM, according to the €14.97 page. On your own, you sort out the outbound transport and the night-time return, the camp booking and dinner.
