Agafay with quad, camel and dinner show: what actually happens in seven hours

No tour from Marrakesh in our database has more reviews than this one: 42,986, averaging 4.8 stars. The Agafay tour with quad biking, a camel ride and a dinner show (ID 486696) runs for seven hours and starts from €19.87. According to the booking page, the operator is Moroccoguidesmile. For that price, you get an afternoon and evening with transport, two rides and a dinner. That explains the number.
What the short description doesn’t say appears further down the booking page, which we read on 10 September 2026: the quad ride lasts 40 minutes, and you share one vehicle between two. Knowing that in advance makes for a happier booking – or a different one.
The schedule, counted in minutes
The booking page shows a schedule with times:

Added to that are a visit to a women’s cooperative that produces argan oil, live music in the evening and a fire show. The exact pickup time only shows up in the availability check. The tour starts in the afternoon and ends after dinner in the dark.
Add it up and you spend just under an hour on the quad and the camel combined. The rest is transfer, stops, waiting for the sunset, dinner and the programme. That’s not a shortcoming, it’s the character of this tour: it’s an evening in the stone desert with two short rides, not a quad tour with a dinner attached. Other operators put the drive from Marrakesh to Agafay at around 40 minutes each way.
The shared quad: the point worth knowing beforehand
The list of what’s included explicitly states a 40-minute quad ride on a shared quad, two riders per vehicle. For couples, that’s often exactly right. Anyone booking alone might end up sharing a quad with a stranger. And anyone who wants to drive it themselves should know that the page doesn’t say whether riders swap the controls.
A single quad isn’t mentioned in the description of 486696. The very similar offer 713703, on the other hand, does state it on its page: your own quad per person costs an €18 surcharge there. If that matters to you, ask about it before booking 486696, rather than negotiating it in the desert that evening.
Pickup, dinner, cancellation
The booking page lists nine pickup points in the city, including Bab Agnaou and the Cinéma Colisée. The air-conditioned minibus drops you off at the same points in the evening. According to the description, pickup directly at your hotel is possible for a surcharge. The operator explicitly asks for a WhatsApp number to avoid misunderstandings. Give it.
According to the list of inclusions, a Moroccan dinner with water is included. The description mentions tajine, couscous and fresh fruit. Vegetarian or gluten-free is possible according to the page; mention it when booking. Other drinks aren’t listed, so bring some cash. You can cancel free of charge up to 24 hours before the start.
What the reviews say – and what they don’t
The sub-scores on the booking page: guide 4.9, transport 4.8, value for money 4.9 out of 5. The review summary praises the guides, the quad ride and the fire show. As a weakness, it names the timing: some travellers reportedly would have liked less waiting time, especially at the cooperative stop. A single review describes the opposite, saying one item followed the next without any downtime. Neither of the two tells you how your evening will go.
The high star rating measures satisfaction with the price. Nobody expects a private camp for under €20. Anyone looking for a quiet dinner for two under the stars gets the opposite here: a group tour with live music, a dance show and a fire show.

Anyone mainly wanting to ride the quad gets, according to the description, around an hour at 535059 and 480200 instead of 40 minutes, and at 480200 within five hours rather than seven. That page contradicts itself on the camel, though: the summary says 20 minutes, the schedule says “around 30 minutes”. At 535059 the camel is missing entirely, but a pool is on the programme instead, at extra cost.
At 4.9, 713703 has the highest star rating of these five, and sets departure between 2pm and 4pm depending on the season and sunset. Anyone willing to skip the quad saves just over five euros and three hours with 477070. The operator there states the return at around 10pm.
Who this tour isn’t for
Anyone who really wants to ride a quad. 40 minutes for two is a taster. According to the operator, the quad tour to the palm oasis and into the Jbilat desert (458610) allows two hours on the vehicle, out of three hours total. More of that is in the quad and buggy tours category.
Anyone expecting sand dunes. The operator itself describes Agafay as stony, moon-like terrain. Dunes are found on the multi-day Sahara tours towards Merzouga, such as the three-day tours from our list of most-reviewed offers.
Pregnant travellers. At 535059 and 713703, the operators explicitly exclude pregnant travellers. We found no such note for 486696. Check with the operator anyway, since quad riding on bumpy terrain is the core of this tour.
Families with young children. We didn’t find an age indication on the page for 486696, either for the quad or the camel. What to bring
The operator recommends comfortable clothing in layers and a light jacket for the evening. According to the description, it provides a helmet and goggles for the quad. For one of the similar offers (480200), travellers reportedly wish, according to the review summary, for clearer information on whether a scarf is needed and what costs extra on site. You can ask both questions before booking any of these tours.
Our verdict
For under €20, 486696 is a fully packed evening: transport, two short rides, sunset, dinner and a show. It suits couples and groups who want to experience Agafay once without organising anything themselves. Anyone travelling alone, wanting a longer quad ride, or looking for quiet is better off with one of the similar packages or another offer from the Agafay Desert category.
