The Ourika Valley can be a day of mountain scenery and lunch by the river for a family, or a trip that includes a hike to waterfalls. This distinction should be clear before booking. Likewise, a lunch mentioned in the title does not always answer the question of whether it is part of the option you have chosen.

Confirm this arrangement before booking. Ask where the group splits up, which adult stays with a child who is not hiking, and when you come back together. “Optional” describes a part of the programme; it does not imply any childcare being offered. If you plan to split up, the organisational side must be clear for everyone.

Nor is it a promise of an earlier return to Marrakesh. A stay at the restaurant may mean waiting there for the hiking group to return. Some families find that pleasant, others find it is not the trip they actually wanted. According to the description, the guided hike takes one and a half hours; that is roughly how long you will wait by the river.

The waterfall trail is not an ordinary city stroll

Pick-up and stops along the way are part of the family day
